FAQs
How much does a session cost and how do I pay?
My fee for a standard 50-minute online session is $210.
To keep things simple, you’ll upload a card (credit, debit, or HSA/FSA) to your secure online portal when you sign up. Payment is processed automatically right at the time of our session. This way, we don't have to waste any time dealing with invoices or cards during our hour.
Do you take insurance?
I don’t take insurance directly. This means I am an Out-of-Network provider.
I chose this setup intentionally so that insurance companies cannot dictate your care. Because I don't answer to them, they can't tell us how long our sessions can be, or cut off your therapy before you are actually ready to finish. My focus stays 100% on you.
Can I get reimbursed if my plan has out-of-network benefits?
Yes, very often! Many premium insurance plans in New York have great out-of-network benefits for mental health.
Every month, I will send you a special receipt called a Superbill. You just upload this document to your insurance app or portal, and they will mail a check directly to you. They usually end up covering 50% to 80% of the cost.
Tip: Give the number on the back of your insurance card a quick call and ask them these exact questions:
"Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health?"
"What is my out-of-network deductible, and have I met it yet?"
"How much do you pay back for a 50-minute virtual therapy session (CPT code 90834)?"
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes, absolutely. Therapy counts as a qualified medical expense, so you can use your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account card to pay for sessions directly using pre-tax dollars.
What makes your approach different from standard talk therapy?
Standard therapy can sometimes feel like just venting without getting anywhere. My approach is active, collaborative, and practical.
I specialize in a modern, transdiagnostic CBT approach. In human terms, that just means we don't get bogged down by strict diagnostic labels. Anxiety, stress, and overwhelm all share the same root ingredients. I combine cutting-edge frameworks like the Unified Protocol (UP) to look at how your specific mind works.
As a first-generation West Indian New Yorker, I build a space where you can leave the mask at the door. You don’t have to code-switch or twist your story to fit into an unnatural clinical mold. Together, we will look at how to respond to intense emotions differently, using your personal values as our guide to build real-world flexibility and skills.
Who does this approach work best for?
This space is built for people who are tired of just talking about their problems and are ready to actually change things. It works beautifully for high-stress professionals, including project managers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, CEOs, and COOs, especially those from first- and second-generation backgrounds. If you are dealing with high-functioning anxiety, perfectionism, panic disorder, OCD, intrusive thoughts, health anxiety, or chronic pain, and you want an interactive therapist who gives direct feedback and collaborates like a true partner, we will be a great fit.
What should I wear or look like during our virtual sessions?
Come exactly as you are. Whether you are wearing a bonnet, a headscarf, sweatpants, or sitting propped up on your bed or couch, please just be yourself and be comfortable. Laughter, humor, and your full personality are not just welcome here, they are loved.
While I take our clinical work deeply seriously and practice radical professionalism, I also believe therapy should be a space where you can be entirely, unfiltered-ly human. Learning about yourself makes us better partners, parents, and friends to the people we care about. This self-work ripples outward and drives real social change. This work is not futile or useless; it is incredibly important. But to do it right, you have to feel free to just be a person first.
Where do sessions take place, and who can you legally see?
My practice is 100% virtual. Because therapy is bound by state licensing laws, I can only provide therapy to individuals who are physically located within New York State at the time of our session. Telehealth offers incredible flexibility for busy professionals, allowing you to log into our secure portal from the privacy of your home, office, or any quiet space where you won't be interrupted.
Is online therapy private and secure?
Absolutely. Your privacy is my top priority. All of our sessions take place over a medical-grade, fully HIPAA-compliant version of Zoom. It has bank-level encryption built specifically for healthcare to protect your personal data, clinical records, and video conversations. You will receive a unique, private link before every appointment.
What should I expect during our first session?
Our first session is all about building a roadmap. We won't jump into intense trauma or expect you to fix everything on day one. Instead, we’ll talk about what’s going on right now, look at where you feel stuck, and clarify what you actually want your life to look like. By the end of the hour, we’ll have a clear, shared game plan for how we’re going to work together.
How often will we meet, and what happens when the 3 months are up?
Therapy works best when it’s consistent. Because momentum is so important at the start, I ask new clients to commit to meeting once a week for the first 3 months.
During these first 12 weeks, we will map out exactly how your mind handles stress, learning how to connect your everyday feelings, physical body sensations, sudden impulses, and reactions. We will also figure out what actually matters to you. Our focus isn't about fighting or trying to control how you feel; it's about learning how you want to live your life alongside those emotions.
Past clients have typically found that they begin to see and feel meaningful progress right around this 3-month mark. Because growth is an ongoing process, my clients choose to continue working with me beyond this initial block to keep building on their goals and deepening their results.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens, and I get that! If you need to switch things around, give me at least 24 hours' notice and we will always try our best to reschedule our session to another open spot within that same month so you don't lose your momentum.
Because that weekly slot is held exclusively for you and can't be given to anyone else, I give every client one free pass every 3 months for a last-minute cancellation (less than 24 hours). Beyond that, if you miss a session or cancel late and we can't find a way to reschedule it within the month, the regular $210 fee applies to keep holding your dedicated time slot.
What is your availability?
I see clients Monday through Friday during standard daytime and select evening hours. Because I operate on a weekly slot-ownership model, where your chosen time is exclusively reserved for you every single week, my exact openings shift depending on who is graduating or moving to bi-weekly care. You can view my current up-to-the-minute openings directly inside my online calendar.
I'm ready to start. What do I do next?
The first step is completely free. Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click the "Schedule a Free Consultation" button. This will take you to my live calendar where you can choose a convenient 15-minute slot for us to chat on the phone. On that call, we’ll make sure my approach is the right fit for your goals, double-check your out-of-network insurance questions, and pick your permanent weekly session time to get you started!
How do I contact you, and what if I have an emergency?
For everyday logistics like scheduling, billing, or tech issues, you can send me a message through the secure client portal or email me directly. I check these messages during normal business hours and will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours.
Please note that I do not provide 24/7 crisis support, and my email/portal is not monitored outside of working hours or on weekends.
